Terminator and Shriver ends 25 year marriage

Exchanged vows in 1986 on a spring weekend on Cape Cod, between a princess of an American political dynasty Maria Shriver and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Former California governor Schwarzenegger and Shriver announced their separation late Monday. claiming a sometimes turbulent 25 year relationship after "a time of great personal and professional transition for each other" the couple said in a joint statement.
The break up comes about 4 months after Arnold ended a bumpy two term run as California governor, a job his wife never wanted him to pursue.Since then Arnold 63 has been fashioning a role as an International Advocate for green energy giving speeches and lining up work in Hollywood.Shriver talks about the stress of changing roles after serving as California First Lady who has guest edited and edition of Oprah Winprey's magazine.
Their joint statement said they are working on the future of their relationship while living apart and they will continue to parent their four children."After a great together deal of thought, reflection, discussion and prayer we came to this decision together" the couple said.

Pacman VS Marquez anew

Bob Arum is negotiating the Pacman/Marquez fight after the pound for pound king easily beats Sugar Shane Mosley last May 8, possibly in November.Report says that Marquez had accepted to meet Pacquiao for the 3rd time as top rank promoter Bob Arum said an offer, he can't refuse.
There's a hitch though because Golden Boy promotion which handled Marquez has the right to refuse if their terms are not met.The lure of big money as much as $5 million plus pay-per-view and closed circuit sales according to boxing enthusiasts and Marquez desire for revenge maybe enough to accept Arum's terms.Other probable contenders are Timothy Bradley and Zab Judah, for Roach however "the only sensible fight out of the three is Marquez".
With regards to Manny's retirement, Bob Arum said it's nonsense.Considered to be the no. 1 pound for pound king, Arum urged Pacquiao to strike while the iron is hot.He is in the peak of his career so he must continue while the cash register rings in his presence.So boxing fans we may witness again another "fight of the century" if all push through, let's hope......

Nonito Donaire wins again

Nonito Donaire won the WBO and WBC bantamweight championships Saturday night, stopping Fernando Montiel with a left hook at 2:25 in the second round.



Donaire, a Filipino-American who made his bantamweight debut in December, controlled most of the fight against the Mexican champion. He landed a left hook that briefly stunned Montiel in the first round and came out swinging in the second round, landing a few combinations before knocking Montiel to the canvas with another left hook.

Montiel surprisingly made it back to his feet only to have the referee stop the fight moments later.

"I needed to be strong but it was the speed that was the key. He left himself open and that gave me the advantage," the new champion said. "I was surprised he got up after I landed that flush shot."

Donaire has won 25 consecutive fights, improving his record to 26-1 with 18 knockouts.

REASONS BEHIND MASS BIRDS DEATH ....

     Reports say one in a series of mass bird deaths in the past months was the result of a USDA  Avicide  program which began in the late 60's as Operation Bye Bye Blackbird.The government acknowledged that it had a hand in one string of mysterious mass bird deaths that have spooked residents in Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, South Dakota and Kentucky in the last month.
     The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) took  responsibility for hundreds of dead starlings that were found on the ground and frozen in trees in a Yankton South Dakota park on Monday.The USDA wildlife service program which contracts with farmers for bird control say they used an Avicide poison called DRC1339 to cull a roost of 5,000 birds that were defecating on a farmer's cattle feeds across a state line in Nebraska but they denied the recent large and dense  bird kills in Arkansas and Loiusiana.
     In addition to the USDA program, a so called Depredation order from US Fish and Wildlife Service allows blackbirds, grackles and starlings to be killed by anyone who says they pose health risks or cause economic damage...

  Danica Flores Magpantay a 17 year old Filipina was announced the winner of the prestigious title, "Supermodel of the World"  in New York last Saturday.An international modeling contest established by Eileen Ford in 1980.Danica was followed by representatives from Lithuania, Poland and Estonia.
    With the victory Magpantay received a $250,000 modeling contract  with Ford models.She is the daughter of the supermodel of the world

After Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry, The Princess Diaries star, Hathaway will don the leather suit as the new Catwoman in the Christopher Nolan's Batman film set to be release " The Dark Knight Rises ". She will play Selene Kyle, her public identity in the movie as the enduring love interest of Batman played again by Christian Bale.

Nolan was very thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne, as the new Catwoman.In the movie is Tom Hardy who plays the villain Bane, one of Batman's most famous and formidable adversaries in which he had also work the second time.Also in the film were Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox and Michael Caine as the ever supportive Alfred.

Last January 15, 2011 we attended the annual Sinulog procession (with my daughter). It was a procession attended by hundreds, even thousands of people right before the Sinulog festival. The statues of St. Joseph, St. Mary of Guadalupe and the centuries old Sto. Niño(child Jesus) were there. It was our first time being there and it was nice amidst the crowd and rain and flood. Many devotees were there to walk the 4.5km route...

I read of a man who stood to speak

At the funeral of a friend

He referred to the dates on her tombstone

From the beginning to the end

He noted that first came the date of her birth

And spoke the following date with tears,

But he said what mattered most of all

Was the dash between those years

For that dash represents all the time

That she spent alive on earth.

And now only those who loved her

Know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not how much we own;

The cars, the house, the cash,

What matters is how we live and love

And how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard.

Are there things you’d like to change?

For you never know how much time is left,

That can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough

To consider what’s true and real

And always try to understand

The way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger,

And show appreciation more

And love the people in our lives

Like we’ve never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect,

And more often wear a smile

Remembering that this special dash

Might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy is being read

With your life’s actions to rehash

Would you be proud of the things they say
