Mother Kills Her Baby because of Farmville

By David Hunt
A Jacksonville mother charged with shaking her baby to death has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
Alexandra V. Tobias, 22, was arrested after the January death of 3-month-old Dylan Lee Edmondson. She told investigators she became angry because the baby was crying while she was playing a computer game called FarmVille on the Facebook social-networking website.
Update: More information has been released for this story.
Tobias entered her plea Wednesday before Circuit Judge Adrian G. Soud. A second-degree murder charge is punishable by up to life in prison.
Prosecutor Richard Mantei said Tobias' sentence could be less because of state guidelines that call for 25 to 50 years. Soud offered no promises on what he'll order during a sentencing hearing scheduled for December.
Outside the courtroom, Mantei said Tobias' plea will help avoid the family reliving the tragedy during a jury trial.
Tobias told investigators that she shook the baby, smoked a cigarette to compose herself and then shook him again. She said the baby may have hit his head during the shaking.

Is this how addicting social network sites and internet games are? So beware, each one of us must know how to control ourselves and know when to stop.

School stuff...

Summer is over now, and classes will start soon here in the Philippines. The government has been talking about adding another year in school (7th grade)- this has been the talk for months now… But I strongly disagree with this plan; it is just a waste of time, effort and money. It only adds to the already heavy burden of the parents and their children. But the government thinks that in order to give students better education- a quality education; they should spend more years in school, so it should be added. If there is something lacking, it’s not the years in school; but the teachers, the facilities, a school itself. They should spend more time in providing the students facilities, buildings for schools, CRs too… No matter how long the kids stay in school, if the facilities don’t improve, then it’s quite useless.Everyone should do their best, give effort, not only the government but the teachers, students and parents,too...everyone.

A mother's love...God's love

My family and I attended the 8:00 mass this morning... I was really touched by the priest's homily, so I decided to share it to all of you..Our Lord showed his undying love to us, by giving up His only Son to save us. He didn't even ask us to love Him back... To let us further understand of His great love, the priest shared a story.
One day, a child was born without ears. As she grew up, she had no friends to play with- many children also tease her because of her condition. She became so saddened, that her mother decided to let the doctors operate on her, to give her ears. The operation was successful, and the girl had the ears that she wanted. Since then, she had gained friends and was happy. Years passed and she found love and decided to get married. She went home to her mother to thank her for all the things she had done for her. She embraced her and by chance, she touched the side of her mother's head and found that her ears were missing. She realized, that her mother transferred her ears to her daughter. She cried and asked her mother why she'd done it. Her mother answered, "Anything given up out of love, is a thing not lost."
As what the Father has done for us...
Love is not an investment- you must not expect to receive something in return.
